Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized on the need to include backward classes, regions, genders and castes in the mainstream of education and distribute equal opportunities for quality education. He has mentioned that it is indispensable to ensure equal opportunities and benefits by removing the inequality in all levels and opportunities of provincial and local education.
Expressing his greetings on the occasion of 'National Education Day, 2081', the Prime Minister said that the government is committed to achieving the goals of sustainable development by increasing the share of the budget for the education sector and passing the School Education Bill, 2081 with discussion.
It was decided to celebrate the National Education Day on October 2, the day the Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2075 was promulgated while implementing the fundamental right to education guaranteed by the Constitution of Nepal. The Prime Minister has expressed his happiness that this year National Education Day 2081 is going to be celebrated across the country with the motto 'Knowledge, Science, Skill, Enterprise and Originality: Partnership and Systemic Competence'.
In order to achieve the goal of compulsory and free basic education and free secondary education, it is mentioned in the greeting message of Prime Minister Oli that there is a need to increase partnership in investment based on mutual coordination, cooperation and coexistence between the three levels of government.
The Prime Minister has said in the message, "It is necessary to use the investment and resources effectively and creatively to create employment and ethical citizens and society through quality education."
In order to achieve the global goal of sustainable development by the year 2030, the prime minister said that school education, from general and technical to higher education, should be made inclusive and qualitative, and all educational institutions should be developed as excellent knowledge centers and education should be made a means to fulfill the national aspirations of a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali.
The Prime Minister has made it clear that the government is taking a special initiative to conduct extra classes of information and technology nationwide with talented subject teachers in the main subject so that at least 70 percent of students pass the upcoming examination of Class 10 Secondary Education Examination 9SEE0.
He said that although there has been an improvement in the net enrollment rate at the basic level, we still need to work hard to increase the retention rate of students. He emphasized on the need to modernize education with local knowledge, skills and technology while managing diversity to further improve it and create opportunities for employment and self-employment in the country.
Prime Minister Oli has said that our priority is to build productive and skilled manpower by investing more in technical education and professional training. "Today's need is to make education from school level to higher education competitive, professional, skill-oriented, employment-oriented, based on information and technology, focus on innovative and creative work along with utilizing the benefits and opportunities generated in the world and commit to learn and teach in a dignified environment", Prime Minister Oli said in the message.
Prime Minister Oli has wished that they will succeed in contributing more by being self-motivated and responsible for the all-round development of children.
