In Portugal, 3,829 people renewed their passports through the mobile service

Kathmandu, August 14th. The Passport Department and the Nepali Embassy in Paris have organized a Passport Renewal Mobile Service from August 2 to 13 in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. In a statement, the embassy informed that 3,829 Nepalis have taken the service of renewing their passports from the mobile service.


This includes 121 minors, 3,380 renewals and 328 missing persons. According to the embassy, ​​revenue equal to 491 thousand 580 euros or 72 million 11 thousand 554 Nepali rupees has been collected from the operation of passport service.


The Director and Branch Officer of the Passport Department and Third Secretary and local staff from the Nepali Embassy in Paris participated in the tour service. The mobile service was managed by the National Coordinating Committee of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association in Portugal, while the non-remunerative Nepali Consulate General in Portugal and various social organizations in Portugal assisted in various roles from their respective locations.


The Embassy has also informed that another camp will be conducted soon to renew the passports of Nepalese who have applied in the camp and who have applied in different camps and directly in Paris but are yet to be received.


More than 50,000 Nepalis are currently living in Portugal. It is said that the Nepali Embassy is serious about solving the problem related to document authentication, which is currently seen as a problem. The statement also mentions that the embassy is trying to solve such problems.
