Kathmandu, February 7: Premier League clubs Manchester City and Chelsea have reached the pre-quarterfinals of the FA Cup. City beat Championship club Fulham 4-1 on Saturday night. In the next game, Chelsea stunned Plymouth 2-1.
Riyadh Maharaj scored two goals in the 53rd and 57th minutes to give City the victory at home. Ilkei Gundogan opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Another goal was scored by John Stones in the 13th minute. Fulham's Favio Carvalho opened the scoring in the fourth minute. Cesar Azpilicueta scored in the 41st minute and Marcos Alonso in extra time in Chelsea's comeback. Macau of Plymouth scored a consolation goal in the eighth minute.
In the other match, Tottenham beat Brighton 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals. Harry Kane scored twice in Tottenham's win. Tottenham were gifted another goal by Brighton.
