Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has to pay a fine. Chennai skipper Dhoni has been fined for slow over rate in the second and first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In the second match of the league, Chennai faced Delhi Capitals on Saturday. According to the guidelines set for the ongoing edition of the Premier League, the bowling team will have to complete 20 overs in one hour and 30 minutes. However, Chennai captain Dhoni has been fined 16,000 US dollars (about 1.2 million Indian rupees) for bowling later than scheduled in the game against Delhi.
The IPL guideline was issued on March 30 before the start of the Premier League. According to the guidelines, one ball has to be bowled in 14 overs in an hour.
