Humla (Simkot) Simkot Airport in Humla, a mountainous district with tourism potential, has been developed and upgraded. With the development and additional construction of the airport, the airline service will be able to run smoothly and it will be more prosperous than the current tourism business.

According to Ajay Kumar Guta, field in-charge engineer of Simkot Airport Project, the works currently in the final stage of construction include the airport's apron blacktop, airport fence and new apron. He said that 70 percent of the black sheet work, 90 percent of the fence and 50 percent of the construction work of the new apron has been completed and will be operational by mid-July. The work of the remaining blacktop has been stopped due to cold weather after the work of two schemes was underway.

The Simkot branch of the Civil Aviation Authority has stated that three new schemes are currently under construction due to the pressure of the Simkot aircraft. In the current apron, up to five ships have to be parked by requesting the upper body due to the obligation to park three ships as per the rules. At the same time, ten to twelve helicopters have to park on the apron of another helicopter. Helicopters had to be parked on vacant land if the number of helicopters increased during the season. After the completion of the work of the new apron, there will be three aprons at the airport and the problem of air jam during the season will be solved. Similarly, the construction of a new fence will make it easier to provide security to the airport when the perimeter of the airport is dilapidated.

During the tourist season, up to forty-five flights will be flown from Nepalgunj and Surkhet and up to one hundred and five flights will be flown by helicopter from Simkot to Hilsa.
