Kathmandu, February: The inaugural match of The Hundred Cricket League, scheduled to be launched by the England Cricket Board (ECB), is scheduled for July 22. Oval Invisible will face Manchester Original in the opening game. In The Hundred, Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane is affiliated with the Oval Invisible franchise.
The Sandeep Oval Invisible includes all-rounders Sam Curran, Jason Roy, Sam Billings, Alex Black, Rory Banners, Tom Curran, Laurie Evans, Will Jacques, Sunil Narine, Nathan Satter and Reese Topley.
A total of eight teams will participate in the competition. Eight teams will compete in The Hundred, including Oval Invisible, Manchester Original, Northern Supercharges, Trent Rockets, Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Southern Brave and Wells Fire.
The inaugural match of the women's team will be played on July 21 as per the schedule released by The Hundred. The first match will be played between Oval Invisible and Manchester Original at the Oval Cricket Ground. The game will be for the women's team. The men's team of Oval Invisible and Manchester Original will compete on the second day of the competition.
Each game of The Hundred Cricket League will be one hundred balls. In which each team will play eight games in the league stage. There will be a total of 35 games during the tournament. The final match of the tournament will be played on August 21.
The first edition of The Hundred was scheduled for 2020, but was postponed due to Covid 19.
